We took a break Tuesday afternoon to celebrate the great carb bomb known as the pancake. March 1st was National Pancake Day. The event benefits kids, so I’m in. The festivities were sponsored by IHOP here is the official site. I was pleasantly surprised to see a full restaurant in Springfield, Mo. I hope each guest was generous in their donation to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in exchange for free flapjacks.

According to IHOP’s website, they were able to raised more than $2.1 million in 2010 thanks to their patron’s generosity. Since 2006 IHOP has raised $5.35 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and other local charities and given away more than 10.1 million buttermilk pancakes.

It was a good time spend with good company. The event ended at 10 PM March 1st, but mark your calendars for next year. The Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and fellow co-workers were winners today. Great cause and free flapjacks.
